Biography Jocelyne Jocya 1209 North Kings Road #6 Jocelyne Jocya, Founder and Chairperson of the FOUNDATION FOR THE DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN (FDRC), is an internationally renowned recording artist and producer. Her impressive career began at age seventeen when she won a talent contest at the Olympia Theater in Paris. The prize, a car, was presented by Edith Piaf. From this, she went on to receive personal training as Ms. Piaf's protégée. Ms. Jocya went on to record in five countries for Vogue, Polydor, and CBS Records, as well as many other well known record companies throughout the world. She has recorded and performed live with luminaries such as Paul Anka, Tom Jones, Neil Sedaka, Miles Davis, Joe Cocker, and more. She has appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The David Frost Show, The Sammy Davis Jr. Telethon, and many others. As producer, she is renown for her Tribute to Josephine Baker at the Metropolitan Opera Lincoln Center, New York; Vive le Music-Hall at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club; and French Feelings and French Dressing at the top of the Village Gate and at Shepheard's Drake Hotel in New York. In Los Angeles, she created the cabaret concept at the Rose Tatoo with great success. She has also been an international award winner; she won the "Coq d'Or de la Chanson Francaise" three times, along with the "Musicorama" award at the Olympia Theater in Paris. In 1988 Ms. Jocya founded the FDRC, inspired by her vision that every child in the world may enjoy certain fundamental rights protected by caring adults united for that purpose. For You Children, an original composition by Ms. Jocya, is the theme song for the Foundation. Jocelyne Jocya and Paul Anka have recorded and performed this lovely song for the benefit of children's rights worldwide. Ms. Jocya, who collaborated with Angie Dickinson on the English lyrics, composed the music, and Humberto Gatica produced the recording. World Vision's 1992 annual telethon used For You Children as their theme song. UNICEF chose this song for their 12 December 1999 International Children's Day of Broadcasting theme . A breast cancer survivor, Jocelyne Jocya has spent the past twelve years furthering the rights of children worldwide through the work of her foundation and her talents, courage and vision for children.
