MESSAGE FROM JOCELYNE JOCYA
The Foundation for the Declaration of the Rights of Children was founded in 1988. My vision throughout is that each child everywhere in the world is entitled fundamental rights to a safe, full, life of love and happiness so they can become all they can be, and that adults unite to declare, protect and defend these rights of children. We, at the Foundation are torch bearers and heralds with the mission of increasing awareness of all children's rights to an existence that is free from violence: free from physical violence to themselves, free from witnessing violence rendered to the persons they love, free from emotional violence, and free from political violence. We must first all open our eyes to the violence that is happening to children around the world every day, and then speak out on behalf of the innocent children. As we continue to declare that children have these rights, more and more people will acknowledge those rights, worldwide organizations will provide their expertise and commitment. This year, we are crossing national boundaries and making this an international effort. It is our hope and dream that " FDRC" will be able to use its expertise on a consistent basis to produce entertainment and cultural events that will generate substantial sums for grass-roots organizations that promote children's issues within the scope of our work. I believe that an international proclamation of the " DAY OF THE CHILD " would be a very powerful way to increase awareness of children's rights all over the world. I want particularly to thank all of you who desire to help the children and who will come forward to aid us in our mission of honoring the rights of all children in this world and to creating a better tomorrow for them. I have dedicated my voice to proclaiming the rights of children. Please join your voices with mine on behalf of all the innocent children of the world, whose voices are not yet heard. |
